Summary of Job Duties:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Innovation and the Online Student Experience, the Online Student Recruitment Manager leads the online student recruitment team for online programs at the University of Arkansas. The position’s objective is to increase the total number of students in the university’s online and distance education programs with a particular focus on the prospect and applicant phases of the student experience. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing effective recruitment strategies utilizing best practices, market research and ongoing data analysis. Some overnight travel is required, including some weekends. This role is not eligible for fully remote work.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment, admissions, student outreach, or student services requiring proactive student contact in a higher education setting

  • At least one year of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with transfer, graduate, adult, and/or non-traditional students

  • Experience planning and implementing effective higher education marketing and recruitment strategies utilizing best practices, research, and data analysis

  • Experience supervising staff including those who travel frequently or are distributed across multiple locations

  • Project management experience

  • Experience in an online higher education environment

  • Experience traveling on behalf of an institution including travel planning, budgeting, and reconciliation

  • Experience successfully working with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Experience working at the University of Arkansas

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention practices and principles

  • Outstanding organizational, oral, and written communication skills

  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills delivered from a client-centered perspective

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, including prioritizing competing demands

  • Ability to manage all aspects of complex programs and events

  • Ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality

  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to develop effective technical tools for supporting recruitment activities

  • Ability to travel throughout the State of Arkansas and beyond as needed for recruitment purposes

$50,000-$55,000 per year
