Summary of Job Duties:

This position will work within the EOS Academic Coaching Program to provide programmatic support and individualized academic coaching to Engineering students at the University of Arkansas to impact student success and persistence. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Utilizing one-on-one skills coaching strategies to assist students with academic skills, such as study skills, test preparation, time management, prioritizing, note-taking, etc.
• Performing administrative management of coaching appointments, such as recording notes, appointment follow-up, referrals, etc.
• Delivering presentations on academic skills topics to both small and large number of student audiences.
• Assisting with event planning, marketing for events, and student success programming.
• Evaluating qualitative survey data for events, presentations, and programming.
• Other projects as assigned

The position is a 12-month, 0.50 assistantship with a competitive stipend and tuition waiver. Work hours will vary, with occasional evening and/or weekend work, but the regular expectation is a 20-hour work week during typical workday hours. Short of university restrictions, this position requires the Graduate Assistant to work on campus. The position covers tuition up to 21 hours/year and is compensated $1,500/month.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled at the University of Arkansas as a full-time graduate student during the 2024-2025 academic year (beginning in summer 2024)

  • Must be admitted into the Graduate school and accepted into a graduate degree or certificate program

  • Maintain good academic standing and progression toward graduate degree completion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates enrolled in a graduate program within higher education, counseling, social work, or related fields of study

$18,000 Annually
