Summary of Job Duties:

Effort Certification: Initiates the quarterly effort certification process in Workday. Manages the process and assist departments with changes to effort reviewers, past certification statements and other issues. Creates annual certification schedule and sends communication about past due statements. Monitor campus compliance with Uniform Guidance regarding effort certification. Assist and train departments in proper effort certification. Review salary distributions. Compare PI salary distributions to commitments made to sponsors.
Service Centers: Review and approve all service center rates to ensure compliance with the Uniform Guidance and accounting practices consistent with the University’s Cost Accounting disclosure Statement (DS-2). Update and monitor service center accounting practices to ensure continued compliance. Perform a biennial review of rates for existing centers. Set up internal service providers and designated worktags for service centers. Review all transactions that involve a service center rate. Confirm that the Service Center’s update their center websites with current approved rates
Indirect Cost Recovery Revenue: Create and review revenue allocation profiles for indirect cost recovery.
Facilities and Administrative Rate: Assist in the preparation of the Facilities and Administrative (F & A) Cost Rate Proposal for the University with the cognizant federal agency. Analyze and reclassify financial and statistical data in accordance with the Uniform Guidance or interpretations and ensure comparability of financial data to published financial reports.


Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BBA in Accounting or equivalent

  • At least four years experience in finance or accounting with prior fiscal office experience in a university or governmental setting and federal cost accounting experience or equivalent experience

  • Experience with Uniform Guidance and ability to interpret and apply federal regulations

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the qualification listed above.

  • Excellent analytical skills (e.g. ability to accurately analyze multiple data sets)

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines

  • Effective written and oral communication skills (e.g. ability to communicate with others in a clear and professional manner)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CGFM, or CFRA

  • MBA

  • At least four years experience in post-award grant management

  • Experience using Workday

  • Higher education experience

Salary Information:

$60,000 - $65,000 - Commensurate with education and experience
