Summary of Job Duties:
The Digital Design and Development Specialist (DDDS) works to craft and curate digital content for the Sam M. Walton College of Business. This role works within a variety of channels, but chiefly the web properties found at https://walton.uark.edu. Initiatives and projects provide services to academic departments, outreach centers, and external initiatives. The DDDS is responsible for a wide range of activities related to the websites and digital properties of the Sam M. Walton College of Business in support of the digital communication and marketing goals of the college, emphasizing strategy, design, and technical problem solving. The DDDS will work collaboratively with department heads of academic units and outreach departments to lead, interpret, and prioritize projects with the goal of delivering high performing websites. The DDDS regularly consults with college unit and faculty leadership to plan and execute marketing projects including providing analytics and reporting to measure project timelines and results.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Associate degree in information systems, marketing, business, communications, art, journalism, advertising/PR or related field
At least two years minimum experience in editing websites and creating web content
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Omni CMS, and WordPress
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in applying web branding standards
Experience in coordinating web marketing projects
Experience in editing images
Experience in writing and editing for web
Experience with web/graphic design
Experience improving user experience (UX) through content strategy
Experience working in higher education
One year supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
Web content and editing knowledge with a focus on semantic html document structure
Knowledge of digital marketing concepts
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to apply web accessibility standards and best practices.
Ability to apply SEO best practices, analyze web traffic, and trends with an eye for improving user experience
