Summary of Job Duties:

The Study Abroad Advisor for the College of Engineering will be primarily responsible for advising students on study abroad opportunities, managing the study abroad portfolio for College of Engineering and promoting study abroad across campus. This role will advise prospective engineering students and their families about program opportunities, application procedures, scholarships and financial aid. This role will collaborate with the Honors College to develop workshops and advise honors engineering students on requirements to receive honors study abroad, research and internship funding. This role will also manage engineering faculty-led programs and exchange program relationships annually in close collaboration with the Director of Study Abroad & International Exchange.

The Study Abroad Advisor for College of Engineering will also manage student applications for all University of Arkansas (UofA) reciprocal exchange programs and support outbound students during a holistic application process (travel logistics, housing, visa, insurance, and academic preparation for exchange abroad). This role will also represent the Office of Study Abroad & College of Engineering for campus recruitment fairs for prospective UofAstudents and summer orientation programs for incoming UofAstudents.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited university

  • At least two years of administration experience in higher education


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years in international education

  • Previous work history in a university Study Abroad Office

  • Study abroad advising experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Terra Dotta Management Tools

  • Use of Microsoft suite, including Sharepoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • *Strong public speaking and presentation skills


Additional Information:


Salary Information:

$43,000 - $45,000 commensurate with education and experience
