Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist is responsible for contributing to and executing the comprehensive recruitment plan primarily focused on graduate student populations. The Recruitment Specialist will plan and implement effective strategies, including print, digital and web-marketing, social media, and on-campus visitation programs; develop and manage a pool of prospective graduate and international students; develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to follow up with prospective graduate and international students; develop partnerships with education constituents from feeder schools to assist with the recruitment of graduate and international students; and coordinate recruitment support activities with University of Arkansas faculty, staff, and alumni. Other related duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Prior recruitment and/or admissions experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Digital marketing experience

  • Experience with SLATE or other similar customer relationship management software

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Skilled in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience

  • Skilled in talking to others to convey information effectively

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and be able to confidently represent the university in a professional manner

  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Proficient skills in using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships

  • Ability to be creative and energetic with a high level of initiative

  • Ability to work with diverse groups, multi-task, and have a true commitment to teamwork

  • Ability to demonstrate proven success in program development and implementation

  • Ability to work with and experience with social media tools
