Summary of Job Duties:

The Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the UAMS Institute for Community Health Innovation is an exciting opportunity to contribute to health disparities research and the development of academic manuscripts. This role involves assisting with a variety of research and evaluation activities, collaborating with UAMS faculty and staff, and participating in didactics and seminars.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or PhD in nursing, public health, community health, public policy, sociology, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license required with current automobile insurance and reliable car for moderate travel to UAMS in Little Rock, AR, and surrounding communities (mileage reimbursed at the current state mileage reimbursement rate). A state vehicle is not available. Occasional out-of-state travel required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience and knowledge of academic writing and research.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency in academic writing and editing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent investigations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a public health research setting or a community-based research setting


Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health disparities research with diverse populations in collaboration with UAMS faculty and staff.
  • Participate in departmental and campus-wide didactics and seminars.
  • Take part in ongoing projects and develop independent investigations.
  • Perform academic editing and writing.
