SUMMARY: As a part of Corporate Accounting, this position supports various aspects of the preparation of the global consolidated financial statements and related information for the company. Consolidations tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • The coordination, planning, preparation, analysis and presentation of the global consolidated financial statements and related reporting in accordance with US GAAP,
  • Supporting Tyson’s consolidations systems and account mapping,
  • Maintaining various corporate related accounts including equity, debt, income tax and intercompany, and
  • Preparing of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses and other financial schedules.

In addition, this position will also support various aspects of the Company’s Finance Transformation efforts, drive process improvement, assist with process documentation and controls compliance within group, work on cross-functional projects and other ad hoc financial reporting matters.

This position works with internal and external auditors, domestic and international business units and our various corporate functions such as tax, payroll, external financial reporting and benefits accounting, technical accounting, controls and enablement finance. A successful candidate will need to be pro-active, have strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressure team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues. Further, building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson’s mission, core values, and team behaviors (the RIGHT behaviors) are critical.

REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job (Accounting or Finance degree preferred).

Experience: 3 plus years of related experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse team of resources, required.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of SAP, BPC, and Power BI preferred and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel required.

Special Skills: Certified Public Accountant or eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred, but not required.

Supervisory: No formal direct reports, but may oversee specific tasks performed by lower level team members.
