In this role, you will be assigned projects to initiate and implement solutions that help control plant costs and maximize labor resource effectiveness. You will gain exposure to developing and maintaining engineering labor standards and learn to apply continuous improvement tools to achieve plant goals. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with automation implementation, supporting managerial decision-making through data and insights, and contributing to other business needs as required.

Requirements:

Education

  • Incoming junior, senior, or graduate student with at least one year of school remaining.
  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university
  • Students pursuing Industrial Engineering or another technical degree are required.

Experience

  • Previous work experience preferred
  • Experience related to engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement strongly preferred

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong computer proficiency, including Excel; familiarity with Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent computer skills with exposure to engineering-related systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies or discipline-specific systems
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Communication & Professional Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, collaborative, and able to work effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated reliability, responsiveness to feedback, and strong attention to detail

Work Behaviors

Work Hours

  • Available for 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year

Travel

  • May require travel to Tyson facilities (approximately 3–4 trips)
