Summary: This entry level Commercial Beef and Pork Sales Development Trainee is responsible for learning a wide variety of activities servicing Tyson Foods as part of the Commercial Beef and Pork Sales Development Training Program, to demonstrate and improve their ability to develop long-term customer sales relationships. The position will complete a rigorous 6–9-month training program with some required travel to manufacturing facilities and/or sales regions. It is designed to provide candidates with the skills needed to build a successful career in business management and/or professional sales.

The areas of focus will include channels of beef and pork sales such as foodservice or retail. This position, along with other sales trainees, will work with many of these areas through this in-depth training.

In addition, the Commercial Beef and Pork Sales Development Trainee will be required to attend various training programs around sales communication systems and other relevant areas. Examples of areas of focus include Plant Operations, Pricing, Production Scheduling, Revenue Management, Marketing, Category Management, Accounting and other cross-functional partners.

The expectation is the candidate will accept a full-time role in the beef and pork sales organization at the end of the training period.

Essential Job Responsibilities: This position will be assigned to either the beef or pork sales team and focus on in-depth learning about the specie, customers, processes, markets, etc. related to the product line. Team members will experience detailed onboarding experience and as capable, assume a selling seat and fill in for the beef or pork sales team as needed. Daily activities will mimic that of the team's roles and responsibilities. This may include cross-functional meetings on sales performance, supply chain, product innovation, product cuttings, pricing, service levels, performing store audits, customer visits, customer meetings, performance reporting, marketing campaigns, analyzing customer menus, competitive analysis, insights and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. This role is intended for recent graduates who have completed their most recent degree within the last three years.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position will be responsible for delivering 5-7 presentations throughout the program.

Special Skills: Ability to analyze data, be self-motivated, a self-starter with attention to detail, out-of-the-box thinking, problem-solving skills, priorities setting, teamwork skills, creativity, innovation, and the ability to act assertively and take initiative. The successful candidate should have a desire to make a difference in both the business and culture and be passionate to understand and represent the needs of our customers.

Supervisory: NA

Travel: Requires an initial, expenses paid, 5-week training period at one of our beef or pork processing facilities, followed by up to two additional trips as needed.

Relocation: Must be willing to relocate to Northwest Arkansas for the duration of the program.
