Role Overview
Join our dynamic Law and Compliance team as a Senior Workplace Investigator, where you'll play a crucial role in fostering a fair and respectful workplace. This position involves independently coordinating and conducting investigations, collaborating Global Ethics, Compliance, Human Resources, Legal and Labor Relations. You will handle the most complex and sensitive workplace investigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Investigations: Independently investigate allegations of potential policy violations and employment-related complaints, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other high-risk workplace issues.
- Collaboration: Coordinate investigations and collaborate with Human Resources, the Law Department, and Labor Relations when appropriate.
- Training and Guidance: Provide training, guidance, and consultation to management and stakeholders to reduce future complaints and liability.
- Compliance: Promote and support compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws; provide expertise and leadership in the investigation of workplace complaints.
- Interviewing and Evidence Gathering: Conduct investigative interviews, compile and review relevant documentation, analyze evidence, prepare reports and summaries, and provide appropriate recommendations and mentorship to management.
- Investigation Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive investigation plans for each case; determine method, order, and timing of interviews and evidence collection.
- Report Writing: Conduct complex analysis and produce high-quality written investigation reports and summaries with clear, candid conclusions and findings.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate independent closing summary calls with stakeholders, presenting thorough case summary insights and precedence for related outcomes.
- Documentation: Create appropriate documentation of investigation steps and information gathered.
- Case Management: Independently manage assigned casework and bring investigations to closure promptly and definitively.
- Professional Communication: Maintain timely and professional communication with all involved parties and key stakeholders.
- Updates and Metrics: Present oral and/or written comprehensive updates regarding findings and investigation status to organizational leaders, and others on a need-to-know basis. Keep detailed, consistent, and accurate records for periodic production of metrics.
- Legal Participation: May be required to participate in depositions, court trials, arbitration hearings, and government agency hearings.
- Operational Planning: Participate in short and long-range departmental operational planning. Assist in developing goals and objectives and action plans for implementation.
- Policy Assessment: Assess existing utilization of investigatory methods, processes, and procedures for adequacy and related policies for regulatory compliance. Recommend enhancements or modifications as required.
- Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze casework trends and provide strategic recommendations.
- Leadership Development: May serve as a backup to Senior Managers when needed for exposure and leadership development opportunities.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert and resource.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience Required
- Extensive investigations experience, with demonstrated expertise in harassment and discrimination.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders, even at the same or higher levels.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with a focus in investigations, Human Resources, or Employee Relations required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required.

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
