Job Details:
The responsibilities of Senior Veterinarian II include the monitoring of bird health and performance/production parameters and providing technical support to complex management that will improve or maintain such parameters. These parameters include, but are not limited to, live cost, condemnation, vaccination programs, calorie/feed conversion, livability, medication programs, bird quality, catching and DOA’s, 7-day mortality/chick quality, feeding programs/regimen, egg production, hatchability, animal welfare, and sound animal husbandry practices. Work in broiler, pullet, and breeder operations, along with hatcheries and plants are essential. Dissemination of practical and successful ideas and practices between complexes is an important aspect of the job. Good communication and people skills are required. The job requires one to work and interact with both Internal and external stakeholders which may include: vet services, breeder and broiler nutritionists, engineering group as well as: Division Vice Presidents, Complex Managers, Live Production Managers, Broiler Managers, Breeder/Pullet Managers, Live-haul Managers, Hatchery Managers and Service Technicians.
The selected candidate must be program oriented and be a team player. Licensure and accreditation in at least one state (preferably more) in which the veterinarian practices is required. Interaction between veterinarians in the allied industry, universities and other colleagues, along with the sharing of this information with team members is expected.
This position is based at our Springdale, Arkansas location. Remote or hybrid work options are not available for this role. Successful candidates should be prepared for an immediate relocation, and relocation assistance will be provided.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Doctoral degree DVM REQUIRED. MAM preferred. Post DVM degree preferred
Experience: Three years plus related experience time in veterinary college counts towards experience . Board certified by American College of Poultry Veterinarians. 5 years experience in industry preferred
Extensive domestic travel is required. This includes routine complex visits, attendance at company meetings, CE courses, etc.
