Job Details:

As a Sr. Accountant, Supply Chain Finance - Logistics, you will be a part of the Tyson Finance & Accounting Team and will play a crucial role in championing our culture of safety, diversity, Team Member development, and operational excellence. This position will provide full-service accounting support for all Capital activities associated with the Tyson Transportation and Warehousing operations, which includes 40+ locations across 8 separate reporting groups. This position works directly with the Logistics Finance and Operations Leadership Teams, as well as their direct reports, on a daily basis.

Tasks require the ability to work with various levels of management within the organization and to effectively service several different internal customers (including Corp Finance & Accounting, Warehouse Accounting and Transportation Operations). This position requires a high level of critical thinking skills to effectively research / solve issues as well as to present solutions to higher levels of management. Work activities are variable and require judgement and successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks in order to meet required deadlines.

Core Responsibilities:

  • CIR preparation (200+ annually) including evaluation/vetting of potential savings/returns.
  • Ownership of immediate post audit process for all Profit Improvement Projects.
  • Leading monthly Capital Spend reporting/presentations to Sr. Leadership
  • Responsible for Annual Capital/Expense Operating Plan activities
  • Quarterly CIP Review
  • Inventory Asset audit for all warehouse locations, working directly with location managers to make sure the assets are complete.
  • P/L reporting responsibility for Shag/Wash & Shops including ME close, forecasts & AOP.
  • Other ad-hoc projects in support of continuous improvement across the entire network


What you’ll bring…

  • 2+ years of experience supporting supply chain activities. Experience in both warehousing and transportation operations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data to support decision-making
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team with a desire to support a people-focused culture
  • Experience in supporting transformation, demonstrating a comfort with disruption
  • A self-starter with a fearless approach to dive in and move with speed
  • Ability to thrive in a transformational environment


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job (Accounting or Finance degree preferred).
  • Experience: 2+ years' experience in finance and accounting or a related role in Supply Chain – Logistics.
  • Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Working knowledge of SAP and Power BI is also preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills, must be able to influence.
  • Supervisory: Position is responsible for the supervision and development of direct reports.
  • Special Skills: Strong analytical skills and people skills; must be comfortable working with members of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Travel: Possibly 2-5 domestic trips per year
