Position Title: Director International Pork Sales
Location: World Head Quarters
Reports to: Sr Director International Sales, Beef and Pork
Position Summary
The Director of International Pork Sales will lead the strategic growth and execution of Tyson Foods’ pork exports to global markets. This role is responsible for driving revenue, expanding market share, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The ideal candidate is a proven leader in global protein sales with deep market knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy for pork product lines, aligned with Tyson Foods’ corporate objectives.
- Identify, prioritize, and penetrate high-growth international markets, leveraging market intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Drive market entry strategies in emerging economies while expanding share in established markets.
Commercial Management
- Lead contract negotiations with key importers, distributors, and retail/foodservice partners.
- Set sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions to achieve profitability goals.
- Optimize pricing strategies by analyzing currency impacts, freight costs, and market demand.
Team & Partner Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales managers and market specialists.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams (operations, supply chain, marketing, finance, regulatory, and logistics) to ensure seamless execution.
- Build strategic alliances with government agencies, trade organizations, and industry associations.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all international trade regulations, sanitary/phytosanitary requirements, and export documentation standards.
- Stay informed on global trade policies, tariffs, and geopolitical developments impacting protein exports.
Customer Engagement & Brand Representation
- Serve as Tyson Foods’ ambassador at international trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
- Promote Tyson’s commitment to sustainability, food safety, and quality across all global engagements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade, Agriculture, or related field or equivalent work experience (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive industry experience, preferably in beef, pork, or related meat industry experience. (international sales experience preferred)
- Proven success in managing multi-million-dollar export portfolios and expanding into new markets.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of global pork market dynamics, supply chains, and customer segments.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with complex, long-cycle sales.
- Financial acumen to manage pricing models, P&L impact, and currency risk.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 35% of the time.
