Job Title: Director of Operations (Finishing)
If you are located near World Headquarters this role will be on-site. However, if you are located elsewhere, this role will be remote.
Summary:
This position is part of a group of Team Members who are committed to supplying cost competitive, high-quality pork by taking care of people, achieving operational and environmental excellence, managing risks and exceeding customer expectations in a workplace that provides for individual dignity and respect.
This position is responsible for directing all operations of the Pork Group finishing. Specific duties include: oversight of grower contracts and grower relations; overall responsibility of live swine facilities in multiple states; direct supervision of operational staff team members; responsible for development, implementation and compliance of all standard operating procedures; development and management of business plans- both current and future; directing all operational aspects of three levels of breeding and finishing stock; develop long term strategy for ROA and cash flow for the Pork Group; Interact and provide leadership to outlying departments of Operations; high level of involvement/interaction with depopulation/repopulations; bio-security; producing cost savings ideas, generation of CIRs, creating annual budget and detailed interaction with technical services concerning the genetic pyramid. all costs and volumes including spending/budgeting, and all environmental issues including pit and lagoon level compliance, water and air quality and waste removal; having a complete knowledge of the animal flow targets, ventilation, feeding and vaccination protocols. Other requirements are ensuring customer satisfaction, execution of PQA; responsible for implementing and monitoring policies and procedures including but not limited to safety and human resources policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include reporting production numbers, environmental numbers, safety issues, accidents and human resources issues timely and accurately; build working relationships with Team Members and Contract Producers that foster open communication and increased productivity; as well as any other duties that may arise.
Requirements
Experience: Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business Administration or Animal Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 10 plus years of operating experience. Previous live swine management experience required. Ideally familiar with swine nutrition and management processes. Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of live swine management, industrial processes and demonstrate the ability to motivate and drive personnel.
Computer Skills: Very proficient computer and internet skills. Strong analytical skills are a must.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills - both formal and informal; ability to communicate within all levels of the organization; highly collaborative leadership style; ability to lead effectively and handle conflict in a cross-functional integration role.
Travel: More than 12 domestic trips yearly.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for managing a group of Team Members who perform somewhat diverse tasks in more than one department.

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
