Job Details:

SUMMARY: The role is responsible for developing purchasing programs and strategies for a wide variety of cross-functional areas, which will maximize the value of items purchased for transportation, road-service, and maintenance shops across Tyson.

This position will be managing a category that supports $1 billion in capital assets. This individual will oversee all MRO supplies for Tyson transportation.

Responsibilities include sourcing, contracting, negotiating prices, approving new vendors, managing business relationships, and providing accounting support for these suppliers. In addition, planning, coordinating, implementing, and tracking procurement project cost savings commitments, and developing purchasing programs and strategies for cross-functional areas.

This includes frequent steering meetings to measure and discuss supplier performance and expectations and developing processes and strategies to help meet business goals.

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate data insights and recommendations to identify potential opportunities for savings

  • Work closely with key business leaders and users to implement and influence strategic objectives and support current functionality.

This position will support the work processes developed through equipment/parts acquisition, shop warranty, and road-service activities. This includes, but is not limited to, paying invoices, scheduling returns, rented equipment support – allocating repair cost of rentals, investigating lost warranty, reviewing/reconciling aging reports, payment status, reconciling and correcting blocked documents, and opening POs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 5 plus years.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills required SAP experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: Specialized knowledge of truck of trailer mechanical systems.

Travel: 1 or 2 times annually.
