Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Business Development Associate, where you'll play a pivotal role in expanding our fresh beef and pork sales across assigned customer accounts. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you'll coordinate sales activities, maintain customer relationships, and manage product specifications for Tyson Case Ready/Value-Added (CRVA) products.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze primal optimization for yield and merchandising opportunities.
  • Assist with yield tests at CRVA facilities to determine production costs.
  • Manage claims investigations through resolution.
  • Lead special projects.

Regular visits to USDA-inspected facilities and customer distribution centers are required to conduct product and process audits. Familiarity with various packaging formats and the characteristics of finished Case Ready products is essential. You will also need to understand all aspects of production to support sales growth for Tyson and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sales process for fresh beef and pork with assigned customers.
  • Manage and update product specifications for Tyson CRVA offerings.
  • Analyze yields and merchandising performance for primal cuts.
  • Conduct and assist with yield tests at CRVA facilities.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims as needed.
  • Perform in-person audits at USDA-inspected plants and customer distribution centers.
  • Understand and evaluate different packaging formats and their impact on Case Ready products.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 plus years’ experience in the fresh beef and pork industry, with experience in meat science, sales, merchandising, food service, or wholesale meat operations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to present to both individuals and groups.
  • Special Skills: Experience with beef and pork merchandising; willingness and ability to handle meat products using knives, band saws, or meat grinders during presentations.
  • Travel: Occasional travel required to CRVA facilities and customer sites for business reviews and audits.
