SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will need to be located in either Lubbock, TX or Dallas, TX.

The Customer Development Manager (CDM) is responsible for leading, building, selling, communicating, and implementing collaborative business solutions that drive both Tyson and our customers' desired business results for Tyson’s prepared foods and FVAP portfolio of frozen and refrigerated protein products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales Partnership: Own the sales partnership with customers for assigned prepared foods and FVAP categories.
  • Achieve Objectives: Meet sales volume, financial spending, and customer profit objectives.
  • Growth Planning: Develop and lead joint growth planning across all assigned categories.
  • Business Strategies: Align and execute multiple business strategies.
  • Sales Deliverables: Understand sales deliverables and their correlation to business.
  • Replenishment Strategies: Implement and execute store/DC replenishment strategies.
  • Insights and Leadership: Consistently deliver fact-based insights, guidance, and leadership direction to merchants and within Tyson Foods.
  • Resource Leverage: Utilize resources including syndicated data, proprietary customer data, industry publications, and internal resources to deliver line review presentations and innovation meetings.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Achieve sales mix and volume goals while understanding the impact on the customer’s metrics.
  • Planning and Forecasting: Plan, forecast, and attain high volume annual growth quotas.
  • Promotional Strategies: Execute promotional and product mix strategies and tactics to deliver customer profitability goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal teams to create winning business propositions that benefit Tyson and the customer.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze syndicated and internal data to drive meaningful action and results.
  • Competitive Tracking: Track and report competitive activities; conduct price and volume contract negotiations.
  • Deduction Resolution: Resolve and reduce deductions efficiently.
  • Software Proficiency: Work efficiently with trade software and CRM software.
  • Sales Presentations: Craft compelling narratives into sales presentations for assigned customers by effectively leveraging syndicated data insights.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Build strong internal cross-functional relationships to attain additional resources for furthering Tyson initiatives at assigned customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5 plus years of experience – Retail Headquarter Sales experience required.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Supervisory: This position will have no direct reports.
  • Travel: Regular travel between Lubbock, TX and Dallas, TX.

$83,000.00 - $173,000.00

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
