Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager BU Innovation role is a key contributor to the overall innovation management team responsible for working with cross functional teams in planning the execution of the Innovation Pipeline. The Assistant Manager BU Innovation role is an entry-level role that works closely with the larger team to execute strategic business and marketing plans to achieve corporate and product volume profit and share objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Innovation Manager in achieving volume and profit objectives for assigned categories reflecting overall corporate goals.
- Assist in the execution of business plans – pipeline to deliver against category financial and share objectives.
- Monitor assigned performance measurements to ensure category is tracking against goals. Recommends and implements corrective actions.
- Analyze data to identify insights and translate into business initiatives and or actionable tasks to drive results.
- Participate in development and execution of product and packaging design plans including concept development feasibility validation product and packaging R&D business proposal and approval project execution customer sell in and tracking of in-market performance.
- Participate in monthly volume forecast for assigned categories coordinating between demand and supply planning to deliver best-in-class forecast accuracy.
- Manage customer calendar to ensure due dates deliverables are met.
- Develop strong understanding and technical competencies of Tyson systems and processes as well as customer packaging development systems.
- Engage and work with cross-functional teams for assigned projects. Participate in customer sales calls and meetings.
- Monitor industry trends market share and competitive activity.
- Work closely with Customer Marketing on category selling tools development and execution of promotional initiatives and sales communications.
- Partner with customer business teams to develop and execute customer plans including concept development feasibility validation product and packaging R&D business proposal and approval project execution customer sell in and tracking of in-market performance.
- Work hand-in-hand with the sales organization to understand and integrate customer strategies in business and brand plans.
- Proactively work with CS&E partners to ensure forecast accuracy maximization of opportunities and development of plans to deliver against objectives.
Education & Experience: 2 years of experience in a CPG marketing/product related role OR a Bachelors or Masters in Business Administration, Marketing or similar degree.
Special Job Competencies:
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills as well as knowledge of Tyson internal systems such as SAP NPD Tango and PPS is preferred.
- Special Skills if applicable: Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking skills strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to work with and lead cross functional teams proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment is required.
