Job Details:

The Poultry Operations Intern will work in a variety of locations which may include the Feed Mill, Hatcheries, Broiler Service, and Breeder Service. They will also gain exposure to operation support departments such as Accounting, Safety Quality Assurance, and Human Resources etc. Our interns are expected to contribute to our success through innovative ideas and value creation. Based on successful performance and the talent needs of our business, internships are intended to provide exposure to a real-life work environment, regular interaction with a supervisor, practical experience in the poultry live production industry, the opportunity to self-evaluate personal strengths and opportunities for further development, and development of workplace competencies.

*This position is slated for candidates who are currently local to this area. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local candidates are not selected, candidates from other areas will then be reviewed for consideration.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university with at least one year of school remaining. Students seeking a degree in Poultry Operations or other Agriculture related field are preferred.
Experience: Previous work experience of any kind is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: A successful candidate for an intern position should possess the following:

· Be a motivated self-starter who has the desire to learn from others

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Time management and multi-tasking abilities

· Strong interpersonal skills.
