SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for managing sustaining innovation projects for our Prepared Foods business units. The position involves leading broad-scope projects, overseeing communication, and ensuring adherence to timelines. Additionally, the role provides project management support for changes to existing products, and cost savings initiates, all supporting business growth and operational efficiency. Innovation is a key role in this as well, for the individual will also lead creative thinking for new products, to maintain a pipeline of growth.
Strong leadership is essential to guide cross-functional teams through challenges that could hinder progress. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders across various business units and coordinate both internal and external resources. This individual will serve as a champion of best-in-class project management practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently execute objectives aligned with strategic category initiatives.
- Conduct project meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet scope, business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop project plans using MS Project and WBS structures (a plus), clearly outlining objectives, timelines, and risks.
- Follow a stage-gate process to ensure project success.
- Master a stage-gate process to ensure project success.
- Align and communicate with key stakeholders at all organizational levels on a consistent basis.
- Demonstrate and promote best practices in project management; support training programs tailored to Tyson Foods.
- Serve as a resource to the project team, providing assistance or escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Report key project management metrics to various departments and leadership levels.
- Maintain customer account information and facilitate the artwork approval process for Private Label business.
- Oversee the artwork approval process within Tyson's system.
- Collaborate with BUs, R&D, Culinary, Strategic Sourcing, Packaging and other teams to create new product ideas for future innovation.
- Occasional travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, food science, marketing, or a related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMI) is a plus.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience as a project manager or in a similar role, preferably in the CPG or related industries.
- Experience with the commercialization of new products and modifications to existing products is preferred.
Communication Skills:
- Strong facilitation skills, with a track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
- Proven ability to manage and drive change in a matrix organization.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project, including the ability to create graphs, presentations, and charts.
Supervisory:
- None.

- 0-5%.
