POSITION SUMMARY:
Machine Operator operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas, tacos, or chips.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- COMPLETED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TRAINING REQUIRED before training or operating line.
- May operate press, bagger, fryer, seasoner, blender, packout or sheeter equipment per SOP as defined in the Production Manual.
- Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment.
- Keeps a legible, accurate record as required, including the Line Operator's Log.
- Stops machine to make required adjustments, following lockout-tagout policy.
- Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.
- Keeps department clean and neat.
- Notifies supervisor and QC of contamination or mechanical or operational issues.
- Must be able to perform the Machine Operators Training Checklist job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period.
- Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers' written specifications.
- Must adhere to all safety policies and operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.
- Must have the ability to enter data into the Plant View system.
- MUST ATTEND DAILY END-OF-SHIFT MEETINGS FOR THEIR SHIFT.
- Abide by all company policies/procedures, written or verbal.
- Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.
- Performs all other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must have three months of accumulative machine operator experience.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Requires flexibility of wrists and hands.
- Walking, bending, standing, and some lifting required.
- Lifting of up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Must move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with a mechanical device.
- Required to use and read scales and thermometers
- Must use a calculator to figure production yields, scrap yields, SPC specifications, etc.
- Must be able to read all associated SOP’s including Operator’s Logs, SPC charts, etc.
- Must be able to write production recordings in the Operator’s Logs and fill out production documentation entirely and accurately.
Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
