Job Details:
As an IT Project Specialist I, you will support the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Working closely with project managers and project teams, you will assist in coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within scope. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining project documentation, scheduling meetings, and facilitating communication among team members. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to develop your project management skills and contribute to the organization's success. Assistance with program/ portfolio management activities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, and coordinating with project teams to achieve high performance and quality in delivering projects that provide a competitive advantage.
• Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in creating, organizing, and maintaining project documentation (Project Plans, RAID logs, etc.) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project management peers and other team members, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging project management technologies, seeking learning opportunities to grow and develop in the role.
• Governance Awareness: Develop a basic understanding of project governance structures and their importance in project execution.
• Introduction to Project Management Tools (Clarity, MS Projects, Jira, etc.).
• Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or Vocational Training or Trade School.
Preferred Certification(s): Agile Certification.
Experience: Less than one year of relevant or practical experience.
Special Skills:
• Presentation: Must be able to present to the project team and project leadership.
• Adaptability: Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and adapt to change.
• Methodology: Foundational skills for Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Problem-solving: Abilities for diagnosing and solving issues.
• Time Management: Organization skills for managing time, prioritizing tasks, and handling responsibilities.
• Change Management: Beginner Organizational Change Management skills.
