SUMMARY:

The Bulk Operations Supervisor is responsible for timely and efficient movement of Global Tyson products through hopper and tanker trucking transportation. There is collaboration and cross training with Bulk Operations Supervisors in rail transportation.

Currently, Bulk Operations Supervisors in the trucking area take care of ordering the refrigerated box cars for export shipments, as well as:

  • Ensures cross – functional collaboration and alignment on strategic plans necessary to provide Tyson competitive advantage.
  • Develop and improve working relationships with internal and external business partners (Plants/Cold Storage Shipping locations, Procurement, Finance, Operations, IT, Engineering, etc.).
  • Ensures Tyson is positioned to maintain efficient plant operations. Includes efficient movement of inbound and outbound product throughout Tyson network.
  • Plant inventory management and placement of tank and hopper trucks supporting total network efficiency.
  • Promotes and supports technological and automation initiatives designed to improve product movement through Global network.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management.
  • Support Tyson Global transportation and total company initiatives.
  • Participates in cross functional collaboration and alignment on strategic plans necessary to provide Tyson competitive advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position is responsible for covering outbound shipment orders of Bulk product to customers with a high amount of collaboration with rail counterparts, plants, sales, billing, contractor relations, contractors, etc.

Models the Tyson values and culture. Builds strong relationships and trust with internal and external team members and business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: BS degree in Logistics a plus or BS degree in Business, and/or 3 plus years of Logistics, Distribution and Transportation experience.

Experience: 3 plus years of experience with transportation operations.

Computer Skills: Versed in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and various supply chain operating systems. Preferred skills; TES, Mainframe, Adobe, Power BI, etc.

Communication Skills: Excellent written, presentation and verbal skills.

Travel: Minimal travel required. Approximately 2-3 domestic trips annually.
