This role will help implement the Analytics strategy with responsibility for delivering analytics to several business functions at Tyson Foods. This role will play a key role in enabling Tyson employee partners and customers better access to data and tools that drive insights and effective decision making. Team leadership and evolving Tyson Foods skill profile will be required as we continue to pursue our strategy towards a cloud native modern data platform. This strategy should be broader than just reports and dashboards and should align with Tyson’s analytics first strategy to enable our business with data driven decision making. A rich history of building strong end user experiences in analytics products with a strong focus on driving business outcomes through data is required. This role must have a strong technical background in data and data systems to ensure robust, flexible, and scalable solutions. Additionally, this role will require building strong business relationships, adapting to new and changing business climates and a strong business acumen.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Develop, foster, and maintain solid relationships and partnerships with technology stakeholders (infrastructure, security, development, product management and support) and business stakeholders across Tyson Foods to define, maintain and evolve Tyson’ Analytics capabilities and application go forward strategies.
Lead teams of analytics professionals and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to propel employee performance for all team members.
Manage day-to-day/week-to-week/month-to-month resource allocations, priorities and assignments of team members and provide guidance on how the team can shape business value through analytics capabilities.
Deliver key programs and projects to meet the needs of Tyson Foods with respect to analytics include data visualization, integration, modeling and analysis.
Actively maintain industry knowledge of best practices and align with the Digital Transformation Strategy to establish and institutionalize current/future state analytics standards, frameworks, patterns, and methods to guide projects/solutions and drive business value/optimization.
Establish and institutionalize architecture governance practices and processes to ensure proper review, due diligence, and alignment across technology leadership of analytics solutions
Guide and lead the documentation and development of multi-year product/capability roadmaps across a wide range of potential platforms and leveraging most appropriate/optimal SDLC approach (waterfall, agile, iterative waterfall).
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required (preferably B.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline)
Master’s degree and/or PMP would be a definite asset.
Minimum 10 years experience through a combination of architecture, project delivery, strategy development and managing/advising large scale, complex, project/delivery teams â management consulting experience would be a definite asset.
5+ years of software development experience including Cloud Architectures, Cloud Native development in AWS and GCP
Knowledge of key analytics platform components such as Power BI, Google Big Query, AtScale, SnapLogic and other related technologies.
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with a track record of building/leading highly engaged teams.
Experience with developing cloud and hybrid-based solutions.
Experience with agile development frameworks.
Ability to quickly extract scope/requirements and make decisions in a technology environment with multiple stakeholders.
Strong experience leading large scale technology programs/transformations â preferably in CPG industry.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence at all levels and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills complemented by solid business and technical background, and keen interest in business operations, process improvement, and change impact.
Expert problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex opportunities/challenges.
Experience delivering/facilitating complex technical workshops to technical professionals and pivoting/simplifying workshop content to executives.
