Job Details:

Under general supervision, monitors and guides trainee performance. Employees in this job will train TEAM members to learn the safest practices, best production techniques, and to understand quality control, while interacting with management on a regular basis. This job requires knowledge of the process workflow and production in the locations manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Trains and develop workforce. Coordinate’s training, trains, and monitors trainees to assure quality of work and progression towards qualification. Ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks. Track’s tardiness, absenteeism, and availability of trainees. Observes behavior of trainees while performing job and responds to potential problems towards the qualification process, and to ensure the safety of individuals. Creates a variety of documents including One Point Lessons, Standard Operating Procedures, and various training materials. Must be able to work and accomplish job tasks without constant supervision along with the ability to improve team member morale. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Trainer will have 8/13 trainees qualifying at one time: it will depend on the plant size, turnover rates, and the complexity of the process. Will assist with new hire orientation (as a backup). Work with buddy trainer to track the progression of on-the-job training for new hire/transfer team members.

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D

Experience: One year of related prior work experience in manufacturing or production; Familiar with production departmental operations, organization policies , applicable laws, procedure and processes; Knowledge of specialized departmental equipment operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, scales, and production packaging equipment; Ability to effectively train and direct the workforce to meet production goals and departmental goals/objectives in a high volume department ; Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities; demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills.

Physical Requirements: Employees may be required to stand, and/or walk, bend and/or stoop, for long periods. Lift boxes or equipment up to 30 pounds. Sit at a computer and type for periods of time.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to present information and respond to questions from management and others: Ability to build effective working relationships with management and trainees. Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Marshallese)

Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office-Excel, PowerPoint and Word; or the ability to learn the software. Computer literacy and the skill to operate specialized software related to departmental operations including internet, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
