Job Purpose/Summary:
The Sr. Commercial Strategy and Planning Manager is responsible for commercial activation activities, execution of the International Business Unit's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the team’s attainment of international business goals. This role will work with the Sales, Marketing, R&D, finance and regional leadership team members to ensure that the customer voice is embedded in internal decisions. They will provide analysis/insights on complex category initiatives, channel strategy for total international and by region, volume and share trends, and be a part of the S&OP demand process. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze and present complex data to drive product, channel and pricing strategic decisions. Additionally, the ideal candidate will lead the project management process for global initiatives. This role will work with Commercial leadership to enhance CRM integrity and provide analytical feedback on CRM utilization and field compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Commercial Strategic Planning that will identify best route to market, guideline, key strategic focus, priorities, supply and pricing strategy in collaboration with cross functional team.
• Be a voice for the field teams (QSR, Retail, Distributor), customer & internal business partners
• Lead the creation and evaluation of investment alternatives using customer segmentation data
• Lead the strategy development and executional sales elements of brands/categories throughout the planning process
• Utilize reporting to monitor International AOP performance and offer insights on areas of opportunity
• Analyze business results through various sales, industry and category insight reports for the International BU
• Participate in sales planning process and manage product allocation when necessary
• Provide key inputs into the S&OP process by providing customer/category intelligence
• Coordinate and manage forecasting performance review for international business unit
• Utilize reporting to track sales performance and achieve KPI goal attainment
• Provides inputs for consideration in the demand and financial forecast processes
• Utilize post-initiative recaps to improve forecasting and execution process
• Collaborate with field sales to assist in strategy execution and goal attainment
• Project Management process on global initiatives
• Coordinate and communicate relevant information used for forecasting and deploying inventory to supply planning partners
• Key interactions include Commercial Sales, Marketing, R&D, Innovation, Global Sourcing, Trade Lanes, Global Trade and Compliance
• Manages ad-hoc VP/Director requests
• Values, establishes, nurtures and maintains productive working relationships with internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required.
MBA or master's degree in quantitative field preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in customer/trade marketing, sales, marketing & sales analytics, or category management, Demonstrated financial acumen, with joint growth planning experience a plus
Skills/Knowledge:
Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills; Strong influencing and negotiating skills; Strong ability to articulate complex information in a concise manner and with proper context
Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence cross-functional team members
Computer Skills: Intermediate-Advanced level for MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Teams; prior experience with Tyson CRM preferred
Special Skills: Excellent planning and project management skills; Strong Excel and data manipulation skills; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Business acumen and ownership; Able to effectively maneuver through ambiguous situations;
Travel: Some travel is required, up to 20% of time
