Director of Commodities Economic Strategy

This position is responsible for coordinating and developing economic and market analytic tasks within the commodity department including recurrent market reporting, forecasting financial implications of economic and fundamental factors, cross-functional business engagement, data analytics and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The role will develop strategy to analyze and share data within department; accelerate processes; predict needs and implement solutions that drive maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and lead to business profitability. This role focuses on enabling and driving the success of the "Price Risk Margin Management" function within the Commodity division and across all P/L owners in the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Influences the future strategy of the overall business division with forecasting and planning capability
Provides guidance and advice to senior management based on deep subject matter enterprise
Specifically provide data and economic analytics, in collaboration with internal analytic team members, to drive BU decision making across the enterprise
Accountable for regular reporting on markets including fundamental and technical drivers, macroeconomic factors, global trade, and physical market movements
Focus on strategic alignment across the Commodity function and foster interconnectivity of the division across the enterprise
Responsible for communicating strategy and Commodity “storytelling” internally and externally
Project manage relevant projects in collaboration with cross-department and functional teams
Enable Commodity department performance objectives in coordination with Director Commodity PMO team
Assess and provide solutions for resource needs
Partner with VP Commodity Purchasing and peer set to drive enterprise strategic initiatives
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a directly related field.
Experience: 10+ years of formal and/or business application experience in economic or financial analysis, mathematics, communication, project management, P&L, trading, procurement or similar fields
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills required.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences and making presentations to drive business decisions. Confident and able to be influential and assertive. Ability to synthesize clearly and simplify complex information.
Special skills: Developing strong relationships with external and internal customers; candidate must have exceptional financial acumen and problem-solving skills; experience with developing and implementing work systems and processes related to business operations & forecasting
Supervision: Limited direct leadership but material indirect leadership and project team leadership
Travel: 1-6 domestic trips per year
