Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position will work with complex and plant personnel to facilitate compliance with all federal state local regulations and company requirements involving the operation of commercial motor vehicles. The Manager also conducts training provides technical support regulatory guidance and loss prevention ideas and assistance. Other responsibilities include: conduct Annual Assessments to ensure compliance with Tyson policy safety management practices and government regulations; monitor and verify the compliant DOT qualification of new and existing drivers and verify the required records to document driver hours of service; provide training for breath alcohol technicians and assist locations to meet regulatory obligations for drug and alcohol testing programs; administer Department of Transportation DOT breath alcohol tests if required; verify conduct and assist in the development of driver training and facilitate or teach Defensive Driving Courses; monitor driver observation and check ride programs for Commercial Motor Vehicles; ensure compliant documentation is obtained and maintained for all roadside inspection reports; verify and monitor reporting of traffic violations and the CMV inspection repair and maintenance program to include proper certification of all mechanics; participate and ensure all accident review boards are convened in a timely manner; respond to facilitate and monitor the reporting of all accidents involving Commercial Motor Vehicles CMV s ; develop strategies and location plans to reduce accidents and lower costs associated with accidents; assist with implementation of driver awards program; actively participate in Hotline activities investigations and on-call rotation. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor degree in Logistics Safety or Law Enforcement preferred or equivalent experience in these areas. Experience: 5 plus years experience working in safety compliance with a focus on policies procedures and working with the Department of Transportation compliance at the local state and federal levels. Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills. If using a Tyson Business Computer System job requires an understanding of the system features and functionality and how to use these features. Communication Skills: Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Special Skills: Must possess strong management problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
