Tyson Foods is raising the world’s expectation on how much good food can do. The Shopper Marketing Team is excited for the growth that is occurring within the company and we are recruiting for a Senior Shopper Marketing Manager The primary responsibility for this role is to set the strategy for the development and implementation of shopper marketing programs that achieve customer brand and shopper needs and objectives for the Grocery channel; while ensuring all projects are completed with quality are on-time at or below budget and deliver positive ROI.

Additional responsibilities for the successful candidate in this position include:

  • Understanding our customers strategies analyzing consumer insights and trends to identify key opportunities then provide actionable recommendations to primary stakeholders for annualized plans
  • Collaborating with counterparts across the organization to align on goals objectives strategies
  • Developing programs for new product sell-ins distribution retention and national programs.
  • Effectively manage relationships with internal cross-functional teams agency partners and others to execute programs
  • Monitor and analyze program performance metrics and efficiently communicate key findings of programs to Sales Business Units BUs and other cross-functionals.
  • Own the Grocery team budget holistically across retailers to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.


  • Demonstrated history of forming and enrolling others in a vision for sustained business growth.
  • Interact with BUs and customer teams in order to influence their plans during annual business planning process.
  • Write and successfully present Lead the development of customer-specific marketing plans that identify business objectives strategies tactics and performance measurements by using insights collected from primary and secondary research customer segmentation Tyson consumer segmentation etc. to stakeholders.
  • Present plans to internal stakeholders and customer leadership.
  • Exhibits superb analytical skills.
  • Direct and execute consumer programs activation projects including tracking budget supervising third parties and agencies following timelines and managing team members.
  • History of developing productive working relationships both cross-functional and direct reports across a variety of styles and functions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team providing leadership and support where appropriate.
  • Promotes a work environment that encourages innovative thinking creative problem solving and rational risk-taking.
  • Develops and inspires team members by building relationships that motivate guide and or reinforce the performance of others.
  • Develops self and others to improve performance in current role and to prepare for future roles; seeks and provides feedback and coaching to enhance performance.
  • Shopper Marketing is a growth capability for the retail industry at large. Candidate must be comfortable making quick decisions based on limited data combined with good business intuition


Education: BS in marketing or other business-related field preferred; MBA preferred.

Experience: 7 plus years of experience in marketing sales market research and or agency in Food or other Consumer Packaged Goods industry.

Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications. Proficient systems knowledge and experience with syndicated data AC Nielsen IRI Spectra Retail Link preferred.

Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking skills for presentations to senior management

Travel: 3-4 trips per year.

Supervisory responsibility: This position will manage a Team of up to 6 individuals.
