Job Purpose/Summary:
The Principal Engineer will provide leadership to the development and design of production facilities, systems, and components
• Provide advanced technical expertise to plants, other team members and cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with Discipline and Controls Engineering, Project Management, Operations, FSQA, Safety and Environmental teams to ensure the successful integration of infrastructure systems into the overall facility design
• Conduct research to identify new technologies and design approaches aimed at increasing cost effectiveness of project execution, optimize plant availability and reliability, and minimize life-cycle costs
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards, and internal specifications and standards
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers
• Analyze system performance and develop improvement and energy conservation opportunities
• Review project CIRs for validity, scope, design QA, and network impact
• Review project progress drawings, submittals and change orders
• Assist with the generation and review of scopes of work
• Review project metrics for reasonableness
• Establish and maintain specifications, standards, and other technical information including innovative technologies to improve sustainability and energy efficiency
• As needed, provide designs for new projects, evaluate existing systems, and recommend changes or additions as deemed necessary, prepare cost estimates and implementation plans
• Partner with internal and external resources to perform infrastructure assessments of existing facilities and provide multi-year capital expenditure plans
• Travel based on assigned project needs
• Other duties as assigned
Education / Certifications:
Four-year engineering or related technical degree required; Master's degree preferred
PE License preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of industry Engineering experience with a proven leadership track record
Communication Skills: • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
