PROJECT MANAGEMENT ENGINEER I:
This position is responsible for executing large capital projects that achieve business, financial, and strategic capital objectives. With over 240 facilities, Tyson Foods requires a robust engineering organization with state-of-the-art hardware, software, and a continuous improvement mindset. This position will use advanced 3D design software to create best in class food processing lines. This position will work closely with industrial, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, process, and controls engineering disciplines to execute large-scale facility changes, expansions, and operational improvements.
Additional duties: Coordinating and managing the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of large-scale capital projects. Collaborating through all project phases with cross-functional teams at the facility and/or the corporate office. Leading or supporting the bidding process to select contractors and equipment vendors which will provide the best value and quality with the demonstrated ability to deliver on schedule and on budget. Generating specifications, coordinating procurement activities, and making fact-based decisions during execution to achieve the project deliverables. Managing outside engineering and construction management resources. Maintaining and coordinating policies, standards, specifications, and practices that support and enhance the company’s strategic objectives. Ensuring all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives. This position must maintain a working knowledge of USDA guidelines and OSHA standards and be able to apply them to plant layouts and process designs. Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience; preferably with a four-year degree in Construction Management.
Experience: Entry level experience with accredited engineering degree; knowledge of and experience with the business processes related to poultry manufacturing preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, Revit, and/or Visio a plus.
Outstanding team player and self-starter with a passion for customer service, developing business relationships and solving complex business issues. Must have a passion for learning.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, and innovation.
This position will interact with and is expected to communicate across a range of user’s, stakeholders, and management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Travel: 25% to 50% will vary by project location and complexity.
