Seasonal Cafe Staff

The Commons Bar & Café, located in TheatreSquared, seeks local bartenders, baristas, line cooks, and/or cashiers for the 2025 holiday season. Under the direction of Commons Bar management, these new staff members will support the food and beverage experience, specifically for our performances of It’s A Wonderful Life, from November 19-December 24, 2025. This seasonal part-time position starts on 11/11/2025 and expires on 12/25/2025.

As a welcoming voice to newcomers visiting TheatreSquared and as a positive, collaborative member of an inclusive workforce—this new seasonal staff member will help TheatreSquared answer the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?”

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Members of the Commons Bar & Café staff will be expected to display excellent customer service skills, an eagerness to learn, and a dedication to the integrity of food and beverage items served by the café.
• Effectively and clearly communicate with Commons Bar & Café management and with coworkers.
• Successfully navigate and use our POS system (Toast) to ensure quick and efficient service during peak hours.
• Assist patrons to select their desired food and/or beverages utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of our menu and common cocktails.
• Prepare a variety of house-made recipes for use both in the kitchen and behind the bar
• Support and uplift TheatreSquared’s mission and vision, as well as show a dedication to the company’s principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and access.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced food-service position.
• Access to Google Chat app.
• Reliable transportation.

DESIRABLE SKILL SETS

• Preferably candidates will bring at least two years of relevant food & beverage service experience
• Previous wine and beverage experience, ability to make recommendations to customers' requests.
• ServSafe certified or experience in complying with local health codes.
• A passion for live theatre.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The base pay for this seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position is $11.00 per hour, with a $15.00 per hour tipped minimum. Benefits include shift meals, flexible scheduling, holiday pay, allotted show tickets, access to the company employee assistance program, and the opportunity to regularly experience live theatre.
