Introduction:
TheatreSquared is thrilled to introduce an updated structure for our FY2025 Inclusion Cohort, now guided by the Leadership Team. As part of this evolution, Leadership will assign and approve all projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). While this group’s guidelines have grown over time, so has its role in shaping our DEI efforts. With Leadership's approval, cohort members will also have the opportunity to develop new ideas that further advance our DEI mission.
Role and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Inclusion Cohort, you will join a group of TheatreSquared’s permanent staff dedicated to advancing our organization’s DEI goals. While all staff contribute to these objectives, Inclusion Cohort members will take on additional DEI-focused projects, playing a pivotal role in fostering awareness, understanding, and progress within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with TheatreSquared Leadership to execute assigned DEI projects.
- Propose new DEI initiatives to Leadership Team, for review and approval.
- Engage in regular cohort meetings to prioritize DEI efforts and suggest strategies to advance TheatreSquared’s mission.
- Balance cohort responsibilities with your primary job duties, ensuring all tasks are managed effectively.
- Dedicate yourself to continuous learning and growth in DEI-related areas, including training, research, facilitation, and strategic planning.
Expectations:
- We will aim to include members from various departments and levels within the organization to bring in diverse perspectives. All members, regardless of position within the organization, are welcomed and expected to participate equally in discussions and responsibilities.
- Regular meetings will focus on assigned projects and exploring additional DEI strategies, aligned with the company’s resources and mission.
- The Leadership Team will oversee progress, present projects, and facilitate discussions for potential implementation.
Evolving Nature of the Cohort:
As the cohort continues to develop, its structure, processes, and guidelines may be adjusted over time. Members should expect to be flexible and open to contributing to these evolving changes as the cohort grows.
Preferred Qualifications: (These qualifications are desirable, but not required.)
- Approval to participate from the department director/supervisor.
- Current TheatreSquared team member with at least three months of experience, working 10 or more hours per week.
- Ability to commit to a eight-month term while managing regular job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated compassion, a proactive mindset, and effective teamwork skills.
- Proven track record of completing assigned tasks.
- Skills in conflict resolution, leadership, communication, or research.
Application Process:
To apply, please visit [TheatreSquared Application Portal] (https://theatresquared.bamboohr.com/jobs/). Note that this opportunity is exclusively available to current TheatreSquared staff members. The application deadline is October 15, 2024. Membership selection will be announced by October 25, 2024, and the new Inclusion Cohort will begin its term sometime in November 2024.
Cohort Makeup:
We expect the Cohort to be made up of 5-6 members total. At least one member will be selected from the Leadership Team, who will serve as a coordinator to help support direct communication to the rest of the Leadership Team, and to also outline dates for meetings/scheduling needs.
Compensation:
Members will receive a $1,000 stipend for the eight-month term, distributed evenly across paychecks. This stipend accounts for approximately 60 hours of work dedicated to Inclusion Cohort activities, or around 6-8 hours per month, which may require time beyond regular working hours.
TheatreSquared is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply, and we value the varied perspectives that each team member brings to our organization.
