Cafe Staff -Line Cook

The Commons Bar & Café located in TheatreSquared is actively seeking enthusiastic individuals primarily skilled in line cook duties, with a minimum of one year experience in such roles or an equivalent. This position entails working in a unique, refined-casual counter-service food and beverage program. Reporting to Commons Bar management, the successful candidate will contribute to enhancing the food and beverage experience in TheatreSquared’s state-of-the-art venue in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As an integral part of TheatreSquared’s mission to cultivate a cultural common-space and foster community cohesion, this role will embody our commitment to social change and inclusivity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Display excellent customer service skills and ensure standards and consistency of food items.
  • Responsible for the preparation of ingredients and stations used in the cooking process, as well as maintaining the kitchen and ensuring it is clean and sanitized.
  • Communicate effectively with Front of House staff, Head Chef, and Sous Chef.
  • Collaborate with TheatreSquared’s marketing, development, and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless service experience during performances, peak hours, and special events.
  • Foster effective team communication.
  • Adhere to health codes and beverage control laws.
  • Embrace and promote TheatreSquared’s mission, vision, and principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and access.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age requirement of 21.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • One year experience in a fast-paced food-service position, preferably with line cook duties.
  • Access to Google Chat app.
  • Reliable transportation.

DESIRABLE SKILL SETS

  • Interest in composing food menu items for seasonal menus and weekly specials.
  • ServSafe certification or familiarity with local health codes.
  • Passion for live theatre.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The base pay for this part-time, non-exempt position is $11 per hour, with a $15 per hour tipped minimum.
