Job Summary:
The primary function of the Assistant Director of Development will be overseeing and executing various essential aspects of advancement, including major event planning, fundraising initiatives, alumni engagement, and collaboration with the Parent Association. The position will report to the Director of Advancement.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Fundraising: Develop, implement, and manage fundraising strategies to support school programs, scholarships, and special projects. Cultivate relationships with donors, alumni, and community stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts. Track fundraising efforts and create reports across multiple platforms.
● Event Planning: Coordinate and execute major school events, including galas, fundraisers, alumni reunions, and donor appreciation events. Ensure seamless planning, logistics, and execution while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
● Corporate Donorship: Cultivating relationships with corporate partners, identifying funding opportunities, and crafting compelling proposals and pitches.
● Alumni Engagement: Foster connections and maintain relationships with alumni through various channels, including events and social media. Collaborate with the alumni community to strengthen their ties with the school and encourage involvement and support.
● Parent Association Collaboration: Work closely with the Parent Association to coordinate activities, initiatives, and events that engage and involve parents in supporting the school's mission. Facilitate communication between the school administration and the Parent Association.
● Support enrollment and retention initiatives within the organization. Work closely with the Director of Development to develop strategies and campaigns aimed at attracting and retaining new families. Help to create a welcoming atmosphere by providing support and guidance to the front desk staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to deliver excellent customer service and effectively handle inquiries.

Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree required.
● Minimum 1-2 years of experience in development/fundraising, and event planning.
● Experience in managing multiple technology platforms.
● Experience with Google Suite, Greater Giving, Veracross or other donor software preferred.
● Experience in independent schools is preferred.
Physical Requirements with or without accommodations:
Required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrist.
Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds at times.
