Position Title: Facilities Associate
Position Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Building Manager
Compensation Range: $15.00 - $20.76
Position Summary:
The Facilities Associate will perform a variety of duties to assist in preparing venues for guest use: provide access to venue by assisting/escorting vendors with load in and out, install event and facility set-ups and tear downs according to diagrams/written instructions, arrange furniture and equipment, empty garbage, and perform any other duties essential to the event as needed. Must be able to accommodate the changing requirements of events by working until setups and load in or load outs are completed. This may extend beyond scheduled work hours and late into the evening/morning. The position requires some scheduling flexibility, and the hours may vary. This position is designed to provide an entry-level, hands-on work experience within the facility department. The employee will be working with and taking direction from representatives from various departments hosting or coordinating events.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Setup and tear down of tables and seating for special events and internal meetings.
- Maintain standards, policies and procedures as they relate to event setups, preventative maintenance and recycle/garbage disposal.
- Install equipment (i.e. washer, dryers, micro wave, refrigerators, etc.) as needed.
- Assemble furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance of furniture, fixtures and certain equipment.
- Perform minor carpentry, plumbing and painting tasks.
- Remove garbage/recycle material from collection points to compactors. Operate compactors.
- Janitorial duties as called upon.
- Maintains work logs for specific requirements.
- Provide on call assistance for mail and deliveries in receiving area.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education, Training, and Traits
- Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described
- Education sufficient to read and follow directions and instructions. Education sufficient to efficiently communicate in writing. High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of business
- Enthusiasm about being a member of a team in an art museum with a strong visitor-centered community dynamic
Work Experience
- Minimum of (2) years of facilities or maintenance experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing and painting.
- Knowledge of standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
- Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Operate standard receiving dock equipment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to trouble shoot/analyze problems with equipment and controls.
- Ability to work independently and with initiative.
- Ability to effectively contribute in a project team dynamic.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to respond to emergency situations.
- Operate a vehicle with manual shift.

- Work Environment: Work will be performed in and outside of museum spaces, construction site, offsite properties and in communities served. Work environment may include exposure to potentially hazardous chemical solutions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Incumbent must meet a flexible work schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends and available on-call for emergencies.

The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary art’s role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action. The Momentary was founded by the Walton family, based on the vision of Tom, Olivia, and Steuart Walton. The Walton Family Foundation is supporting this project as a way to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Arkansas. The Momentary welcomes all with free general admission.
