Job Summary


The Development Coordinator is part of a dynamic, guest and donor-centered team facilitating fundraising activities for the Jones Center/Jones Trust entities. The position supports fundraising database, gift processing, and stewardship strategies designed to bolster community relationships and move the organization to a new level of service to the region.


This position has three primary areas of focus: entering and tracking contributions in the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database, facilitating donor acknowledgement letters and invoices, and providing support for gift agreement generation, donor recognition and benefits tracking, prospect research and tracking, scheduling, and written and phone correspondence (60%), assisting with stewardship activities, RSVP tracking, volunteer coordination, and fundraising event execution (30%), and providing general departmental support (10%). Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and self-motivated. They will enjoy collaboration and be open to change. They will be able to provide exceptional customer service and value a high degree of accuracy in record keeping and reporting.


Main Responsibilities


  • Record and process donations, including cash, in-kind gifts, and pledges, ensuring accurate coding, allocation, and contact information.
  • Reconcile financial reports with the accounting department.
  • Facilitate acknowledgement letter and invoice processes, support gift agreement generation, and assist with benefit tracking,
  • Facilitate donor renewal reports and solicitation processes, including pulling lists from the database, and preparing mailings.
  • Facilitate donor recognition review across donor wall, webpage, and digital/print marketing collateral.
  • Create and run reports for fundraising analysis, donor segmentation, and campaign performance.
  • Develop and run custom queries to extract specific data for targeted fundraising efforts.
  • Performing regular data audits to identify and correct errors, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Assist with prospect research and portfolio tracking for donor pipeline development.
  • Assist with fundraising event needs, including but not limited to tracking RSVPs, maintaining project spreadsheets, communicating with event volunteers, scheduling planning meetings, tracking event components, facilitating in-kind product requests, assisting with set up and clean up, and other event duties as assigned.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and donors, as well as internal colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requires regular on-site presence and is not eligible for remote work.

Minimum Qualifications


Required Skills and Abilities


  • A motivated and enthusiastic team player with excellent attention to detail and customer service.
  • At least one year of database experience as it relates to entering and reporting on data.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to fundraising ethics and demonstrates a high level of confidentiality as it relates to donor and member records.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and managing CRM databases and related software.

Education, Training, and Experience


  • An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to remain stationary, occasionally standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds occasionally.
