A group of growing tech startups is seeking Business Development Interns to support customer discovery, sales outreach, market research, and partnership development. Interns will be matched with a startup based on their interests, skills, and the company’s current business needs.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with startup founders and small teams, gaining exposure to how early-stage companies identify customers, test markets, build relationships, and grow revenue.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities may vary by startup placement, but could include:

  • Research prospective customers, partners, industries, and market opportunities.

  • Help build and organize lead lists and customer outreach pipelines.

  • Support outreach efforts through email, LinkedIn, phone calls, and events.

  • Assist with scheduling and preparing for customer or partner meetings.

  • Track outreach, conversations, and follow-up activity in a CRM or internal system.

  • Conduct competitor and market research to help inform business strategy.

  • Help prepare sales materials, presentations, proposals, or partnership briefs.

  • Support founder-led sales efforts and learn how startups turn conversations into opportunities.

  • Attend relevant networking events, customer calls, or ecosystem meetings as appropriate.

  • Assist with special projects based on the startup’s growth priorities.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for curious, proactive students or early-career professionals who are excited to learn how technology companies grow. Strong candidates will be comfortable communicating with new people, staying organized, and working in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Interest in startups, technology, sales, entrepreneurship, marketing, or business strategy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable conducting research and organizing information clearly.

  • Self-starter who can take initiative and follow through on tasks.

  • Professional, dependable, and open to feedback.

  • Experience with spreadsheets, presentations, CRM tools, LinkedIn, or outreach platforms is a plus, but not required.

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, economics, technology, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

What You’ll Gain

During this internship, you will gain practical experience in:

  • Startup sales and business development processes.

  • Customer discovery and market research.

  • Professional outreach and relationship building.

  • CRM and pipeline management.

  • Startup operations and founder-led growth.

  • Working on real projects that directly support a growing company.

You will also have the opportunity to build relationships with founders, startup operators, and other professionals across the regional technology ecosystem.
