POSITION TITLE: Kindergarten Classroom Aide

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• At least one (1) of the following:
1. Two (2) years of college credit;
2. An associate’s degree (or higher);
3. Provide evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
4. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
• Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
• Self-starter; able to work independently.

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assisting students in achieving social- emotional and academic success.
• Provide academic and behavioral support.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff.
• Supervise students.
• Maintain positive communication with students and families.
• Support classroom instruction.
• Support and promote the district’s mission, vision and values.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
