Position Title – Half Day Panther Daycare Paraprofessional

Qualifications - 18 years of age or older, High school diploma or equivalent

Reports To - Director or Site Supervisor

Terms of Employment - 195 day contract, 1:00-5:00 Daily

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure all minimum licensing and Better Beginnings requirements are being met on a daily basis

• Monitor classroom, playground and other areas for safety and security
• Assist lead teacher with organizing, cleaning and preparing materials
• Assist children in achieving developmental success socially, emotionally and behaviorally
• Maintain a positive climate for children and encourage respectful interactions
• Monitor student progress and help maintain documentation
• Engage in positive interactions with children and serve as a positive role model for developing social skills
• Attend required trainings
• Perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors

Other Job Functions

• Document and record daily activities for each child in Procare
• Ensures staff-child ratios are met at all times
• Accompany assigned children and know classroom count at all times
• Strive to meet each child’s individual needs
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, employees and others
• Builds positive relationships with children, parents, co-workers and others
