POSITION TITLE: Head Girls High School Track Coach/Assistant Cross Country with Credit Recovery Teaching Assignment

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Activities Association/NFHS Coaches Education Program

REPORTS TO: Building Level Principal and Athletic Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.

ESSENTIAL COACHING FUNCTIONS:

  • Display loyalty to the principal, athletic director, and the athletic department.
  • Supervise athletes and assigned team.
  • Assist with supervising all athletes in program.
  • Help plan and supervise any special needs/events (awards night, parent meeting, community service, etc.).
  • Make suggestions and recommendations to help the program.
  • Display sportsmanship towards opponents, officials, parents, and team through appropriate behavior.
  • Follow rules and regulations in the Siloam Springs Athletic Department, Coaches and AAA Handbooks.
  • Help plan and conduct daily practices for assigned team.
  • Attend pre-season organizational meetings as assigned by the athletic director.
  • Assist in organizing and running of invitational or AAA tournaments and regular season meets.
  • Attend professional development activities and remain current to new coaching strategies.
  • Attend all interscholastic contests for assigned team.

ESSENTIAL TEACHING FUNCTIONS

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  5. Serve on committees as assigned.
  6. Remain current on instructional practices in education and coaching.
