Title: Secondary Math Teacher

Description: Math Teacher capable of teaching standards in Grades 7-12

Qualifications: Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License for

7-12 Mathematics. Applicants must have effective instructional skills and experiences, along with a proven background in

education. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not

required.

Reports To: Principal and Assistant Principal

Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits provided according to the Siloam

Springs School Board policies.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Work collaboratively with content team (PLC) and grade level interdisciplinary team.
  2. Teach the Arkansas Math Standards associated with Grades 7-12
  3. Implement a variety of effective, research-based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
  4. Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide appropriate feedback.
  5. Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs
  6. Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners, reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
  7. Effectively implement district initiatives.
  8. Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
  9. Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
  10. Embrace middle school model and philosophy.

Other Job Functions:

  1. Have or develop a working knowledge of QuEST and the mathematical practices
  2. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  3. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  5. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  6. Serve on committees as assigned.
  7. Remain current on instructional practices in education
