POSITION TITLE: Special Education Compliance Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Arkansas teaching license with three (3) years of special education experience.
- Strong knowledge of special education compliance standards and IDEA regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, families, and agency representatives.
- Proficient in managing deadlines and documentation in a fast-paced educational environment.
CONTRACT: 200 Days

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Compliance Specialist supports the special education department by ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations through documentation review, reporting, and collaboration with district staff and external agencies. This role is ideal for a current Special Education Teacher with at least three years of experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of compliance requirements and excellent organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA and AR Special Education Regulations and the ability to train others.
- Willingness to collaborate with Special Education Directors to strengthen district procedures.
- Conduct thorough IEP draft checks for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with student needs before meetings.
- Provide support and guidance to special education staff regarding best practices in compliance and documentation.
- Facilitate Pre-K Transition meetings and manage the completion of all associated paperwork in collaboration with families and early childhood partners.
- Support and participate in the effective implementation of district due process procedures.
- Support and promote the district’s mission, vision, values and the implementation of the strategic plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with training, data collection, and internal audits to support program integrity and student outcomes.

- Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms, etc)
- MySped Resource
- Computer Automation Systems (SEAS)
- Other data and assessment programs including; but not limited to, technology integration products used for instruction or management purposes
