Title: High School Head Wrestling Coach/Classroom Teacher

Location: High School

Qualifications: Hold, or be able to obtain, a valid Arkansas Teaching license.

Previous wrestling coaching experience preferred.

Must hold or be willing to obtain a CDL

Reports To: Building Principal and Athletic Director

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive men’s and women’s wrestling program (7-12) aligned with the mission and goals of the Siloam Springs School District.
  2. Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices that develop fundamental skills, advanced techniques, physical conditioning, and sportsmanship.
  3. Instruct student-athletes in proper techniques, rules, and safety procedures of wrestling.
  4. Promote academic achievement, leadership, integrity, and good sportsmanship among student-athletes.
  5. Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and related activities.
  6. Ensure compliance with Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) rules, district policies, and state regulations.
  7. Develop competition schedules in coordination with the Athletic Director.
  8. Maintain accurate records of athlete eligibility, attendance, injuries, and inventory.
  9. Inventory, maintain, and ensure proper care of equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
  10. Coordinate and supervise assistant coaches and support staff within the wrestling program.
  11. Communicate effectively with parents, athletes, faculty, administration, and community members.
  12. Organize and oversee off-season training, camps, and youth program development as appropriate.
  13. Assist in promoting the wrestling program through community engagement and positive public relations.
  14. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and collaborate with teachers and counselors as needed.
  15. Attend required meetings, professional development, and in-service activities.
  16. Perform other duties as may be assigned by district administration.
  17. Abide by AAA rules and regulations, school board policies, and campus expectations. This includes maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  18. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Length of Contract: 220 Days (or as assigned by district for coaching duties)

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of staff.
