Classification

Type: full-time, non-exempt position

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours a week with occasional weekends, events, and holidays.

Duration: This is a 36 month position

Minimum Range: $60,000 - $65,000

Scott Family Amazeum Overview

The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow.

Amazeum Mission: To engage the imagination of children and their families through interactive exhibits, programs, and resources while creating an excitement for lifelong learning and the enrichment of lives.

Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.

The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.

Position Summary

The Amazeum is conducting a major capital campaign to expand our reach, programs and facility. Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Capital Campaign Manager will play an active role in the campaign while supporting Amazeum campaign team, consultants, Board members and campaign cabinet in their work. Serving as the project manager for the capital campaign, this role will maintain and facilitate all aspects related to the campaign planning and organizing, working closely with the development and communications team, campaign cabinet and board. The Capital Campaign Manager will be responsible for monitoring campaign progress, reporting progress to campaign leadership, motivating campaign leaders and volunteers to meet goals.

The Capital Campaign Manager will coordinate all aspects of a $25 million+ fundraising campaign to create a new Outdoor Amazeum & Hangout to open in 2026-27. This new space will host an early learning center, community rooms, local dining space, art installations and more. The Outdoor upgrades will include over 10 new exhibits that take exploration to a new level, from nature area, slides, scrap yards and more.

Essential Functions

  • Overall campaign management and organization including pipelines, prospect tracking, strategy, task assignments, timelines and progress toward goals
  • Scheduling meetings, preparing talking points, proposals, assembling presentations and other necessary tasks to prepare for all capital campaign related meetings
  • Research and identify prospects
  • Record campaign gifts and pledges, generate and send timely gift receipts, acknowledgements and pledge payment reminders.
  • Ensure that all data and communications related to prospects, donors and donor recognition is recorded in donor information system
  • Maintain master campaign calendar to maximize cultivation events and keep campaign committee on track
  • Recommend revisions to fundraising plan, as needed, to meet goals
  • Work with communications team and consultants on internal and external communications related to capital campaign
  • Manage committees of volunteers as needed for Campaign execution
  • Serve as an active team member of the communications and development team by participating in team meetings and supporting team projects as needed
  • Work with Development team to plan donor events

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in successful major gift and/or capital campaign fundraising
  • 3+ years experience in developing successful solicitation and cultivation strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit and grow major gifts
  • 1+ year experience using donor database or similar products (Tessitura, DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, etc.) Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated open and collaborative work style
  • Previous experience working independently, proactively and with initiative
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to learn and fully embrace the mission of the Amazeum with professional enthusiasm

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least three feet for materials storage and preparation as appropriate for the demands of the office
  • Ability to travel to and from work sites throughout Northwest Arkansas region per use of personal vehicle
  • Ability to work in environment with moderate to excessive noise
  • Ability to work in large crowds onsite and offsite

Preferred Skills:

  • BS or BA from an accredited college or university
  • Team player with a strong focus on creativity, fun, and innovation
