BlakeSt is seeking to add an Event Manager to our Team. The Event Manager will be an integral part of the Community Team at Blake Street House. The position will include curating, booking, and ensuring successful execution of Member events. The Event Manager will also be responsible for Private Event sales and planning. The Event Manager supports BlakeSt’s core values, provides extraordinary value to BlakeSt Members and demonstrates our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Event Manager must be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary for events and programs.
Pay: Commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
Member Events
- Collaborate across departments to develop a monthly theme and events lineup.
- Ensure effective internal communication of upcoming events and needs.
- Facilitate all aspects of event planning from internal planning meetings, event communications, site and vendor selection, contract management, on-site logistics, all event details, such as décor, catering, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
- Maintain relationships with third party vendors and act as liaison between BlakeSt and outside contractors.
- Manage and submit vendor invoices.
- Strategize with marketing team to accurately promote Member events and programs.
- Book artists, performers, instructors, etc., and negotiate prices within the monthly events budget.
- Proactively handle any issues and troubleshoot any problems; creatively problem-solve.
- Collect details for each event including day/time, description, capacity and location.
- Create event collateral, including: event presentations, printed materials, and swag.
- Enter event information into Club Automation for Member sign-up.
- Schedule and publish notifications for each event to encourage attendance.
- Ensure the setup up and take down for events, including furniture and AV equipment.
- Manage post-event follow-up and reporting.
- Directly supervises Event Producer; assigns task and responsibilities to ensure the success of BlakeSt events.
Private Events
- Process intake requests, produce quotes and estimates of Private Events.
- Act as representative of F&B team when coordinating menu, setup, and execution of private events.
- Create and share internal Banquet Event Orders and Run of Show Outlines.
- Manage calendars to prevent double booking.
- Collaborate with other departments to curate, promote and sell packaged events.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
- Conduct post-event follow-up and reporting.
- Manage relationships and encourage re-booking.
- Create contracts, take deposits, and collect final confirmation.
- Continuously communicate across departments.
- Self-manage. Follow attendance policy, clock in/out appropriately, adhere to dress code, be proactive in accomplishing duties, and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Membership.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
- Experience in managing and leading a team toward a common goal: providing coaching, training and empowering growth in team members.
- At least two years of event/project/programming curation, planning, and management.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to monitor numerous software tasks.
- High energy, positive, professional attitude, takes pride in work.
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently.
- Possesses strong qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company mission.
- Excellent prioritizing skills, strong organizational ability, time management and detail orientation.Must be able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
