JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in energy management, business administration, communications, or a related field preferred. Four (4) years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in utility operations, energy efficiency programs, demand response, distributed energy resources, or customer-focused program administration preferred. Experience coordinating programs across multiple departments and working directly with customers or members is desirable.


JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Strong understanding of energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed energy resource concepts. Ability to administer programs using data systems, databases, and spreadsheet tools. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate across departments. Comfort with public speaking, community outreach, and member education. Working knowledge of DERMS platforms or similar energy program technologies preferred.


MAJOR JOB TASKS:

  • Serve as the primary administrator and point of contact for the cooperative's Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) thermostat demand response program.
  • Manage member enrollments, cancellations, incentives and ongoing program maintenance within the DERMS platform.
  • Schedule, initiate, and monitor demand response events, including documentation and post-event reporting.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Marketing, Member Relations, Billing, and Operations to ensure accurate program execution and effective member communication.
  • Act as the primary point of contact or support for all Energy Services programs, including CHESS (Comprehensive Home Energy Savings Solutions), energy audits, rebate and incentive programs, net metering, electric vehicle programs, and community solar.
  • Process program applications, verify eligibility, track participation, and ensure timely follow-up with members.
  • Maintain accurate records, data tracking, and reporting for Energy Services programs.
  • Provide operational support for Energy Services initiatives, allowing the Manager of Energy Services to focus on strategic planning and program growth.
  • Assist with evaluation of existing programs and support development of new programs or pilot initiatives.
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing participation, performance metrics, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with cooperative policies, regulatory requirements, and program guidelines.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Interact regularly with cooperative members regarding Energy Services programs and participation.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and program partners related to DERMS, rebates, audits, and energy programs.
  • Represent the cooperative at community events, public meetings, schools, trade shows, and outreach activities.
  • Communicate with contractors, installers, and technology providers as needed to support program delivery.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to respond to and manage DERMS demand response events during evenings, weekends, holidays, and after-hours as operational needs require.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events, outreach activities, or program needs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for meetings, events, or site visits.
  • Commitment to the cooperative's mission, member service, and community engagement.
