Ozark Foundation is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and mission-driven Director of Marketing & Community Engagement to lead the planning and executing of marketing, communications, event promotion, sponsorship activation, and community engagement initiatives that advance Ozark Foundation's mission.
This role will increase awareness, participation, sponsorship, donor engagement, and community support through compelling storytelling, effective marketing campaigns, and consistent brand execution across all channels. The ideal candidate is a hands-on marketing leader who enjoys creating content, managing campaigns, supporting events, building relationships, and delivering measurable results. To succeed this individual must be an organized, self-starter and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces accountability, communicates effectively, delegates strategically and contributes positively in a collaborative team culture. Above all, this individual is passionate about youth development, outdoor recreation, and creating memorable experiences that inspire young people to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
The work of the Foundation requires ability to work outdoors in sometimes inclement weather conditions with significant physical activity. Our events are mostly held on weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Management

Manage and maintain Ozark Foundation brand and event sub-brands across all communications and marketing channels

Develop and execute annual marketing plans that support participation, fundraising, sponsorship, and awareness goals

Ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and storytelling across all audience touchpoints

Create marketing campaigns that promote Foundation programs, events, initiatives, and community impact
Content & Communications

Lead content creation across digital, print, email, social media, and event communications

Develop compelling stories that highlight Foundation impact, community outcomes, conservation efforts, and participant experiences

Coordinate public relations efforts, media outreach, and press releases

Manage communication calendars and campaign schedules
Digital Marketing

Manage the Foundation and event websites and ensure content remains current, engaging, and aligned with organizational priorities

Plan and execute email marketing campaigns to participants, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community members

Oversee social media strategy, content development, publishing, and community engagement

Work with internal teams and external partners to improve digital engagement and campaign effectiveness
Events & Community Engagement

Lead marketing support for Foundation events and programs
-
Develop promotional campaigns to drive registrations, attendance, participation, and fundraising outcomes

Collaborate with sponsors, partners, and community organizations to maximize engagement opportunities
-
Support volunteer communications and community outreach initiatives
-
Attend and support Foundation events, including occasional evenings and weekends

Assist operations in other Ozark Foundation events.
Sponsorship & Donor Engagement

Support sponsor recruitment, activation, recognition, and retention efforts

Create sponsorship and donor communication materials

Collaborate with Foundation leadership to strengthen relationships with sponsors, donors, and strategic partners

Ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon marketing and promotional benefits
Measurement & Performance

Track and report on marketing, communication, event, and engagement performance

Monitor key metrics including website traffic, social engagement, email performance, event participation, sponsorship engagement, and donor communications

Provide regular updates and recommendations to Foundation and event leadership

Use insights and feedback to improve future campaigns and initiatives
Leadership & Collaboration

Manage marketing vendors, agencies, freelancers, and contractors as needed

Collaborate closely with Foundation leadership, event teams, sponsors, and community partners
-
Maintain marketing calendars, project plans, and budgets

Contribute as a collaborative member of the Foundation leadership team
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field

5+ years of marketing, communications, or community engagement experience
-
Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns

Strong writing, storytelling, and content development skills

Experience managing social media, email marketing, and website content

Strong project management and organizational skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred

Experience in nonprofit, outdoor recreation, tourism, hospitality, events, sports, or community-focused organizations

Experience working with sponsors, donors, volunteers, or membership-based organizations
-
Familiarity with CRM, email marketing, and website content management systems

Event marketing and event operations experience

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
