Ozark Foundation is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and mission-driven Director of Community & Youth Programming to lead the planning, growth, marketing, and execution of the Foundation's youth event portfolio, currently offered under the OZ Kids brand. In our 6th year of producing family-friendly events, OZ Kids events are recognized as the premier outdoor recreation experiences in the region for youth ages 2-14.
The Director will lead a growing portfolio of events that include youth cycling races, adventure races, multi-sport events, and other outdoor experiences for young people. This individual will be responsible for event operations, marketing, participant growth, community partnerships, and financial performance while ensuring every event reflects the Foundation's commitment to safety, quality, accessibility, and community impact.

Above all, this individual is passionate about youth development, outdoor recreation, and creating memorable experiences that inspire young people to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
The work of the Foundation requires ability to work outdoors in sometimes inclement weather conditions with significant physical activity, including lifting weight over 50lbs. Our events are mostly held on weekends. In addition to leading our youth programs, the Director is expected to play a supporting operational role in other Foundation events.
Key Responsibilities
Event Development, Planning & Operations

Lead the development of the OZ Kids portfolio including all aspects of event planning, logistics, permitting, staffing, site layouts, risk management plans, and contingency plans.

Serve as the primary liaison for key OZ Kids stakeholders by representing the Foundation at community meetings, events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.

Develop, monitor, manage and report event budgets to achieve financial objectives. • Assist operations in other Ozark Foundation events.
Event Marketing & Communications

Working internally or externally with creative professionals, assist developing or modifying the Foundation’s youth brand.

Ensure the foundation’s community & family brand (currently OZ Kids) is consistently and professionally executed.

Develop collaborative relationships with relevant third parties to grow and leverage the brand.

Create and execute compelling marketing campaigns and content—including social media, photography, video, email communications, and promotional materials.
Required Qualifications

Educational studies, certifications or degrees in event management, outdoor recreation, sports management, or related field experience.

Ability developing and executing social media, email and digital marketing campaigns including proficiency in creative tools such as Canva, Adobe, etc.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Experience managing budgets and multiple concurrent projects
Preferred Experience

Experience directing and participating in cycling, running, multi-sport, adventure racing, youth sports, or outdoor recreation events.

First aid certifications such as wilderness first aid.

Familiarity with registration platforms, event technology, and volunteer management systems.
Success & Key Performance Measures

Increase sponsor support and registration income to meet budget goals

Develop collaborative marketing channels and relationships with key stakeholders including schools, communities and other public and private organizations

Positive post-event participant feedback gained through formal surveys

Ability to work collaboratively internally and externally
Pre-Employment Requirements

Must successfully complete a criminal background check.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience
